Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, containing only 89 words. Consequently, the bullet points of the task are only minimally and disjointedly addressed. While there are vague mentions of a trip purpose involving exploring nature and engaging youth, and passing references to friends and weather, the ideas are severely underdeveloped and lack clarity. The tone is inconsistent for an informal letter to a friend, and the third bullet point regarding an invitation to do something together is essentially missing or incomprehensible. Therefore, the task achievement is heavily compromised by both the lack of length and the fragmented development of ideas, placing it at a lower band level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The organization of the letter is extremely weak. The response consists of disconnected, erratic sentences that do not flow logically from one to the next. Paragraphing is haphazard, with random line breaks (such as 'This' at the end) that disrupt the reading process. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, making it difficult to follow the progression of thoughts. Referencing is unclear, particularly with pronouns like 'I our main purpose' and 'onorther qualified artisan especially electrician'. Overall, the arrangement of information lacks basic coherence, leading to a low score in this category.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The lexical resource is very basic and often inappropriate. The student uses very limited vocabulary with frequent word-choice and spelling errors that significantly impede communication, such as 'whith naturally of a good threes', 'fresh of smelling', and 'onorther qualified artisan'. Collocations are unnatural, and attempts to use less common words fail due to major inaccuracies. Words are frequently repeated or misused, reflecting a restricted vocabulary range that struggles to convey precise meaning even at a simple level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak throughout the text. The response features a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are heavily flawed, resulting in ungrammatical constructions such as 'I really like to thank you for the opportunity to visit you .I our main purpose is...' and 'for weather what should we bring for I case its raining of coold'. Punctuation and capitalization are erratic, and basic agreement and tense errors are pervasive. The high frequency of grammatical errors frequently distorts meaning and causes difficulty for the reader.
