Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully covers all the required bullet points of the prompt. You have explained the purpose of your trip, which is to attend meetings with local tile suppliers, and you have asked your friend for recommendations on sights and popular street food areas. Furthermore, you successfully invited your friend to join you for outdoor activities such as hiking. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or brief, such as the mention of accommodation assistance and the specific outdoor activities, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Overall, the tone is appropriately informal and friendly, and all parts of the communicative task have been adequately addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure. You use standard informal greeting and sign-off conventions. Cohesive devices are employed to connect your ideas, such as 'During my visit', 'Moreover', and 'as you know that', though referencing and cohesion are at times a bit mechanical or basic. While the flow of information is generally logical and easy to follow, transitioning between some paragraphs could be smoother to demonstrate higher-level organizational skills. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate different topics, such as the purpose of the trip, sightseeing requests, and invitations.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully using functional terms like 'sightseeing', 'business trip', and 'beneficial'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'quilty' instead of quality, 'reccomend' instead of recommend, 'findin' instead of finding, and 'acomodation' instead of accommodation. These lexical inaccuracies and occasional spelling mistakes do not heavily impede communication, but they restrict your score due to limited precision and control over less common items. Expanding your control of word forms and spelling will help elevate your vocabulary score in future writing tasks.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional clauses and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. Examples include missing articles ('attend some meeting', 'in findin good acomodation'), preposition and verb pattern errors ('meeting with some of local suppliers'), and punctuation issues around conjunctions. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect typical patterns associated with this band level.
