Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response successfully addresses all three bullet points required in the prompt. You clearly explain the purpose of your trip as attending business meetings with dealers for raw materials, ask about things to do and see by mentioning historical buildings like the Red Fort and Qutab Minar, and invite your friend to join you for sightseeing and activities. However, some ideas remain under-developed or briefly expressed, such as the mention of the Metro facility and specific activities like swimming and dancing, which prevents the response from reaching a higher level of development. The tone is appropriately informal and friendly throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter maintains a generally coherent overall arrangement, allowing the reader to follow your plans and ideas. You use basic paragraphing to separate your introduction, business purpose, sightseeing interests, and closing remarks. However, the cohesion between sentences is sometimes mechanical or abrupt, particularly in the second paragraph with sentences like 'I have a one free day.So, I make plan to visit your city with you.' Referencing and transitions could be smoother to create a clearer logical progression from one idea to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
An adequate range of vocabulary is used to accomplish the task, including words related to business ('dealer', 'raw material', 'meetings') and tourism ('historical building', 'sightseeing'). You attempt some less common vocabulary, but there are noticeable spelling and word-choice inaccuracies, such as 'planed' instead of planned, 'buisness', 'number of historical building' instead of buildings, and 'keenn interested to visiting'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect the constraints typical of this lexical level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am writing to inform you that i will be visiting your city, next weekend.' There are several errors in grammar, articles, and punctuation throughout the text, including lowercase 'i', missing articles ('a one free day', 'number of firms'), incorrect prepositions ('keen interested to visiting'), and punctuation spacing issues ('days.I', 'day.So'). While these errors occur, they rarely impede overall communication, and your basic sentence patterns are generally under control.
