Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You make a relevant attempt to explain the business purpose, mentioning a work visit and that you will be in the city for four days, with two days devoted to work. You also refer to sightseeing and invite Alex to join you, so the main situation is recognisable. However, the purpose is unclear in places, especially “I am a visitor in my company,” and the request for recommendations is not expressed clearly. The invitation is also incomplete: “If you free in next Sunday you inform me” does not clearly say what you would like Alex to do with you, and the final sentence breaks off. Develop each point with direct, complete details—for example, explain your work assignment, ask for specific sightseeing or food recommendations, and propose a definite outing together.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence: you introduce the visit, mention sightseeing, and then refer to meeting Alex and another friend. Paragraph breaks help separate some of these points. However, progression is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined without clear relationships, as in “So that is why, nowadays I see many kind of places visit for my business.” Connectors such as “Actually,” “So,” “However,” and “In additionally” are sometimes used inaccurately or do not clarify the connection. The final section also ends abruptly, leaving the invitation unfinished. Organise the letter into clear stages—trip purpose, questions about the city, and a specific invitation—and use simple linking phrases only where they express the intended relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “business,” “remarkable,” “tea garden,” and “famous foods,” which helps convey the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word combinations are inaccurate or unclear, sometimes making the reader work to understand your meaning. For example, “for my job purpose,” “many kind of places visit for my business,” and “I little a bit know for your cities famous foods” do not express the intended ideas naturally. There are also inconsistent forms such as “place” where a plural is needed and “cities” for a single city. Build a bank of natural phrases for work travel, sightseeing, and recommendations, and check that each noun and verb fits the meaning you intend.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including “I will be there for 4 days but my work will 2 days,” and use time references such as “next week” and “next Sunday.” However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and prepositions occur frequently and can make meaning unclear. Examples include “I will coming your city,” “If you free,” and “my work will 2 days”; these need forms such as “I will be coming to your city,” “if you are free,” and “I will be working for two days.” Some sentences are incomplete or unfinished, particularly the final line. Practise reliable sentence patterns for future plans, questions, and invitations, then check that every sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
