Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the main purpose of the letter by saying you will visit Paris for work and to unwind, and you ask about activities indirectly by sharing your plans and inviting Solange to join you. The invitation to the fashion show is clear and personal. However, the request for your friend’s recommendations is not explicit: you list the Eiffel Tower, a fashion show and a café, but do not directly ask what else she thinks you should see or do. The business purpose is also unclear because “my work anual live is approved” does not explain what the trip involves. Develop these points with a direct question and a clearer explanation of the work commitment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you open with a personal greeting, explain the visit, describe possible activities, and finish with an invitation and sign-off. Sequencing phrases such as “First on my list” and “Second” help the reader follow your plans, while the final paragraph links the fashion show to your friend’s interests. To make the progression more natural and precise, separate the purpose of the trip from the sightseeing plans, and use a direct question to connect your request for advice to the activities. Some linking is repetitive, particularly “together” in the invitation, and the transition from work to sightseeing could be smoother. The organisation is clear, but cohesion is not yet consistently flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of familiar expressions suited to a friendly letter, including “bucket list,” “unwind,” “spare,” and “create long lasting memories.” These help establish an informal, enthusiastic tone. However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “Elf Tower” is not the correct name, “Run Way Fashion Show” is awkwardly formed, and “anual live” makes the work-related meaning difficult to understand. “Obessesed” and “alot” also need correction. Some phrases, such as “explore these places,” are broad rather than specific. Aim for accurate names and collocations, and choose vocabulary that clearly explains the business purpose and the activities you hope to enjoy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of short statements and longer sentences, including the invitation beginning “I am hoping…” and the explanation of why Solange might enjoy the fashion show. The main message remains understandable, but errors in sentence boundaries, verb forms and agreement are noticeable. For example, “You know how life can get serious” is joined to the previous sentence with a comma and an inappropriate capital letter, while “i will be visiting” needs correct capitalisation. “I am hoping your have some time” has an incorrect verb form, and “Second, is attending” has an unnecessary comma and an incomplete construction. Review sentence punctuation, subject–verb forms and capital letters, while keeping the longer sentences controlled. More accurate complex sentences would make the letter easier to read.
