Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the situation, explaining the impact, and suggesting a solution. However, the development of these points is somewhat uneven. The description of the parking issue is clear, but the explanation of why it bothers you is slightly repetitive and focuses more on a specific incident rather than the general inconvenience. The suggestion for the landlord is a bit vague, as 'legal action' might be an overreaction for a parking dispute. To improve, ensure that your ideas are fully extended and that the tone remains professional throughout the letter, especially when describing conflicts with neighbors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the narrative. However, the flow between sentences is often mechanical. For example, the use of 'As I am a working professional' and 'What bothers me the most' are good attempts at signposting, but the transitions within the second paragraph are choppy. The sentence structure is often run-on, which makes the logical progression feel slightly cluttered. Using more varied cohesive devices, such as 'consequently' or 'furthermore,' would help create a smoother, more professional tone suitable for a formal letter to a landlord.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate the situation clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'working professional,' 'vehicle,' and 'parking location.' However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'someone family members' instead of 'some family members' and 'misbehaved with me' instead of 'were rude to me.' The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited and relies on basic descriptors. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing when describing the conflict.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently struggle with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, such as 'I used to go on work' (should be 'I work') and 'they trying to control them' (should be 'they tried to control them'). Punctuation is also an issue, with several run-on sentences that lack proper conjunctions or full stops. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundaries and consistent tense usage will significantly improve your score.
