Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the parking situation, explaining the frustration, and suggesting a solution. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The tone is somewhat informal and lacks the appropriate structure for a formal letter to a landlord. While the core message is conveyed, the lack of detail and the brevity of the explanation mean the task is only partially fulfilled. To improve, you should expand on the impact of the parking issue and use a more professional tone throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter lacks clear paragraphing, which makes it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. The sentences are often disjointed, and there is a lack of cohesive devices to link thoughts together. For example, the transition between describing the parking situation and the request for help is abrupt. The use of referencing is also unclear at times, such as when referring to 'the nabour'. To reach a higher band, you should organize your letter into distinct paragraphs: one for the situation, one for the impact, and one for the proposed solution, using linking words like 'consequently' or 'furthermore'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, relying on simple structures to convey meaning. There are several spelling errors, such as 'Landloard', 'latter', 'Actully', 'nabour', and 'Sincerlly', which hinder readability. The word choice is often imprecise, such as using 'big issue' or 'one of the park'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the limited range of vocabulary and frequent spelling mistakes prevent a higher score. You should focus on learning more precise nouns and adjectives related to housing and formal correspondence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The grammar is significantly flawed, with frequent errors in sentence structure, verb tense, and word order. Examples include 'five persons lives', 'six guys lives', and 'i saw one of the park is empty'. These errors are frequent and sometimes make the meaning difficult to grasp. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction. Practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions will also help clarify your writing.
