Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear landlord,
Im writing this letter to inform you that i am facing the problem to park my car outside the building when i reached home after my work .
Firstly , as we know that our building is located near to the all shopping plazas , so sometimes people park the cars in our space and thats why residents gets shortage of space.
Secondly, people who owns more than two cars they park their cars outside instead of parking area . Adding to this , sometimes visitors come to see each other they should more time than usual . That’s also become another problem fir the residents.
I strongly recommend to you that should restrict the parking for outsiders and marked some signs and you should make rules that visitors parking should me between two to three hours. So that others can not face difficulty.
I will waiting for your response
Yours sincerely

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points required by the prompt: describing the situation, explaining the impact, and suggesting solutions. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a landlord. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention that visitors stay too long, you could have elaborated more on how this specifically impacts your daily routine. The suggestions are clear, but they could be more detailed to show a higher level of task engagement. Overall, the response is relevant and covers the requirements sufficiently for this level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Adding to this' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing (e.g., 'that's also become another problem'). The paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter, and the progression of ideas is clear enough to ensure the reader understands your concerns without confusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use topic-specific terms like 'residents', 'parking space', and 'shopping plazas'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'they should more time than usual' (should spend more time) and 'marked some signs' (put up signs). While you do not use a wide range of sophisticated or less common vocabulary, the language used is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('residents gets', 'people who owns'), articles ('the all shopping plazas'), and verb tenses ('I will waiting'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces before commas. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
