You live in a small apartment building with a parking lot in back, and you often cannot find an empty parking space when you get home from work.

Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter
• describe the situation.
• explain why it bothers you.
• suggest something the landlord could do to solve the problem.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to raise a concern regarding the parking situation in the lot behind our apartment building.

Increasingly, I find myself unable to locate an available parking space when I return home from work in the evening. It appears that individuals who do not reside in the building are regularly using the spaces reserved for tenants, leaving residents like myself without anywhere to park.

This situation is becoming a significant inconvenience. After a long day at work, I often have to spend considerable time searching for a space, and when none is available, I am forced to park on the street some distance from the building. Aside from being inconvenient, this also raises safety concerns; on one occasion, I returned to find my car had been damaged on two sides while parked away from the building, which has left me worried about further damage or theft.

I would therefore ask that you consider putting up signage clearly indicating that the parking lot is reserved for residents only. Additionally, issuing parking permits or stickers to tenants would make it easier to identify and prevent unauthorized use of the spaces.

I would appreciate it if this matter could be looked into as soon as possible.
