You live in a small apartment building with a parking lot in back, and you often cannot find an empty parking space when you get home from work.

Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter
• describe the situation.
• explain why it bothers you.
• suggest something the landlord could do to solve the problem.

Dear Landlord,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my concern regarding the shortage of parking spaces behind our apartment.

I have been living in this apartment for the last two years, and recently, I have been facing difficulties parking my vehicle, particularly when I return home from work in the evening. I believe that most of the vehicles parked in the spaces are unauthorised and belong to visitors.

This problem bothers me every day because I have to find parking for my vehicle on a street far away from my apartment. After parking, I have to walk a long distance to reach home, which is even more frustrating after a whole working day, particularly when I have groceries or other items to carry with me.

I would suggest that you look into this issue. If possible, please allocate a parking space to each tenant who owns a vehicle and mark these spaces as reserved parking. Moreover, unauthorised vehicles should be prohibited, and a separate parking area for visitors could be arranged so that guests park their cars in the designated area instead of using tenants' parking spaces.
