Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Mr. Bradon,
I am writing to you to express my concern about the parking lot here in my apartment which I feel inconvenient every day due to insufficient space when I have to park my car. As I come back from my job around 5pm in the evening there are other resident's cars totally block the path through which I have to move my car. Sometimes, someone occupied the parking lot that allocates me to park my vehicle.
These inconveniences are disturbing my schedule regularly as I am working eight hours shift that makes me tired also, I have to look after my children especially they depend on me to complete their homework and for their meals. But looking space and moving my car takes a considerable amount of time that in later I left with less time to do other tasks I mentioned above.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The letter covers all three bullet points: the situation is described, the impact on your personal life is explained, and a solution is proposed. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter to a landlord. However, the development of ideas is slightly hindered by grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning less precise. For example, the phrase 'someone occupied the parking lot that allocates me' is confusing. To improve, ensure that your explanation of the problem is more clearly articulated so the landlord understands the exact nature of the parking violation. Overall, the task requirements are met, but the clarity of the message could be strengthened.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure of your argument. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Also' and 'But', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between the description of the problem and the impact on your children feels a bit abrupt. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the logical progression between sentences is smoother. The ending is incomplete, which slightly affects the overall coherence of the final paragraph.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively. You use some relevant terms like 'lease agreement', 'policies', and 'insufficient space'. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'I feel inconvenient' (should be 'I find it inconvenient') and 'park their cars perfectively' (should be 'perfectly'). There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'remind' instead of 'reminding'. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensure that your word choices are grammatically accurate in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an attempt to use complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For instance, 'there are other resident's cars totally block the path' should be 'residents' cars are totally blocking'. Additionally, 'in case of remind' is grammatically incorrect and should be 'to remind'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of verb tenses, particularly when describing ongoing situations or future requests.
