Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 93 words. While you have attempted to address the three bullet points—describing the situation, explaining the impact, and suggesting a solution—the development is extremely limited. The ideas are presented in a very brief, fragmented manner, lacking the necessary detail and elaboration expected for a formal letter. To improve, you must expand on each point by providing specific examples or context, such as mentioning the time you usually arrive home or suggesting a concrete solution like assigned parking spots or visitor permits.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter lacks a clear structure and logical progression. The paragraphs are poorly defined, and there is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas together. The transition between the description of the problem and the impact is abrupt. To improve, you should use clear paragraphing: one for the introduction and situation, one for the impact, and one for the proposed solution. Additionally, incorporate linking words such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'therefore' to help the reader follow your argument more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is very basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express your concerns effectively. Phrases like 'I don’t get the proper parking' and 'it really bother me' are informal and lack the precision required for a formal letter to a landlord. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'living on rent' instead of 'a tenant in your building.' You need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more formal and descriptive terms to convey your message with greater clarity and professionalism.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammar is significantly flawed, with frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and verb tense. For example, 'I had space I till yet I didn’t get any problem' is grammatically incorrect and difficult to follow. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. To improve, focus on writing complete, grammatically correct sentences and ensure that your subject-verb agreement and tense usage are consistent throughout the letter.
