Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response covers all three bullet points required in the prompt: you describe the situation regarding the parking lot, explain how it affects you, and suggest a solution involving assigned parking spaces. However, the letter is severely under-length at only 72 words, failing to meet the 150-word minimum requirement. Because of this major omission in length and the resulting lack of development in your ideas, the response falls into the Band 4 category for Task Achievement. To improve, you need to expand your points with more details, such as how long this has been happening and the specific impacts on your daily routine.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The text lacks proper paragraphing, presented instead as two run-on blocks of text. Cohesive devices are minimal, relying mostly on repeated words like "so" and "for exemple". The overall flow is disrupted by the lack of punctuation and structure. There is no clear opening or closing salutation typical of a letter, which affects the letter format and organizational clarity. To reach a higher band, you should group your ideas into logical paragraphs and use a wider range of transition words to connect your sentences smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with words like "come", "parking", "spot", and "problem" reused without much variation. There are also several spelling errors, such as "exemple" instead of example, "appartement" instead of apartment, and "numred" instead of numbered. These limitations restrict the lexical range to a basic level. To improve your lexical resource score, you should incorporate more precise vocabulary related to housing and daily frustrations, and carefully proofread your writing for spelling mistakes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammatical structures are very simple and limited, consisting mostly of run-on sentences joined by conjunctions. There are significant grammatical errors throughout the text, such as "When everytime i come from work", "cant find a spot", and "make for each resident his own spot". Punctuation is largely absent, with missing capitalization for the pronoun "I" and missing periods to separate complete thoughts. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and keep the grammar score at a low band.
