Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You described the situation regarding the backyard parking lot and your difficulty in finding a space due to your fluctuating work hours. You explained why this bothers you, mentioning that it wastes a lot of time and causes stress when you arrive home late at night. Finally, you suggested a practical solution, proposing that the landlord assign fixed parking slots to specific apartments. All parts of the task are addressed, and your ideas are relevant and clear, earning a solid Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter shows an overall coherent arrangement, and your ideas progress logically from describing the problem to explaining your feelings and offering a solution. However, the paragraphing is poor, as the entire letter is clumped together into one block of text without proper spacing or formal letter formatting. Additionally, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as starting multiple sentences with 'Thats why'. Referencing and linking could be smoother to achieve a higher band, placing this criterion at a Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your meaning regarding parking issues. However, there are noticeable spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'Actullay', 'diificcult', 'sprnding', 'abailable', 'habe', 'consider', 'patking', 'vechile', and 'hrlos'. There are also awkward word choices and collocations like 'good state of your health' and 'appartment so each resident had a permanent space'. These errors limit the lexical score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as conditional clauses like 'If you booked the fix patking slot...'. However, control over grammar and punctuation is weak, with frequent errors including lowercase 'i', missing articles, incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'once i reached home at late night'), and punctuation omissions. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader, though communication is generally maintained. This performance aligns with a Band 5.0 descriptor.
