Dear Sir,

Today I am writing this letter to inform you that there is a lot of empty space for parking but unfortunately, I did not get suitable place to park my car.

There is a big vocant space backside of the apartment. However, all my neighbours park their cars but when I try to find a place. I am totally shocked there is no place. This has been happening with me about 2 weeks ago which is realy very hard situation for me because I had to park my car on road which is not legal.

Thank you for your consideration

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all three bullet points required in the task instructions. You described the situation by stating that you cannot find a suitable parking space despite available space. You explained why it bothers you by noting that you have to park on the road illegally and face issues getting around. Finally, you suggested a solution, asking the landlord to resolve the issue in a timely manner. However, some ideas are a bit repetitive and under-developed, particularly the explanation of the problem and the specific suggestion for the landlord. To reach a higher band, the suggestions should be more concrete, such as proposing assigned parking spaces or warning letters to unauthorized parkers. Nevertheless, the purpose of the letter is clear and all prompts are addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear purpose and appropriate opening and closing salutations. Paragraphing is attempted to separate different points, such as describing the problem in one section and making the request in another. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical. For instance, transitional phrases like 'last time, when I parked my car infront of the house that time I had to face' are awkward and repetitive. Additionally, punctuation errors, such as placing a comma before 'so , I get relief', disrupt the flow of ideas. While the logical progression is generally understandable, the cohesive devices lack flexibility and precision.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision needed for higher bands. You successfully used basic vocabulary to communicate your message, such as 'apartment', 'neighbours', and 'parking space'. However, there are several lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as 'vocant' instead of 'vacant', 'frequent manner' instead of 'prompt manner', and 'cumbersome issues' which does not collocate well. There are also spelling errors like 'realy'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they highlight a limited and sometimes inaccurate control of lexical items.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'when I try to find a place' and 'I would be appreciate if you could solve this issue'. However, grammar and punctuation accuracy is weak throughout the text. There are notable grammatical errors, including tense inconsistencies ('This has been happening with me about 2 weeks ago'), incorrect modal usage ('I would be appreciate'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect comma splices and spaces before punctuation marks. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning remains mostly retrievable.
