Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your letter covers all three bullet points required in the task. You describe the situation by stating that you cannot find an empty parking space when you return home, you explain why it bothers you because it wastes your time after a long day at the office and led to your car window cracking due to tight spaces, and you suggest that the landlord build a new parking area. However, some ideas are a bit under-developed, such as the sudden mention of the cracked window without deeper context. Furthermore, your response is slightly under the word count requirement, falling short of the 150-word minimum by three words. To reach a higher band, you need to fully develop all your supporting points and ensure you comfortably exceed the minimum word count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement and follows an appropriate layout for a formal letter to a landlord, starting with a suitable greeting and ending with a proper sign-off. You use paragraphs to separate your main points, such as describing the problem in the second paragraph, explaining the impact in the third, and making your suggestion in the fourth. However, the cohesion between sentences is sometimes mechanical or faulty, seen in phrases like 'Firstly ,it is' where spacing punctuation is incorrect, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. To improve, you should use a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure smoother transitions between your ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating your daily parking struggles and your request to the landlord. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as 'precious time' and 'frustrating', but there are noticeable errors in word choice and form, such as writing 'parking sport' instead of 'parking space', and 'serveral' instead of several. Spelling mistakes like 'writting' and 'woking' also appear in your writing. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they do restrict your score. To achieve a higher band, you need to expand your control of less common lexical items, improve your collocation usage, and check your spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures like 'whenever i back to home at evening' and 'So we can easily park'. However, your writing contains frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and articles. For example, there are issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'I am writting to regarding', 'i felt tired', and 'Whole day i was woking', alongside missing capitalization for the pronoun 'I' and awkward prepositional patterns like 'find a parking sport'. Punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas and periods, are also present. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, verb tense consistency, and accurate punctuation.
