Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the central issue—there are sometimes no available spaces when you return from work—and explain that this leaves you embarrassed, scared, and confused. The letter also makes a general request for the landlord to solve the problem. However, the response only minimally fulfils the task: the description becomes difficult to understand in phrases such as “I forgot my home back to work,” and the proposed solution is not specified. The reader is not told what action you want, such as assigning spaces, checking whether non-residents are parking there, or introducing permits. Develop each bullet point clearly and make a direct, practical request so the landlord knows how to respond.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, several body paragraphs, and a closing, and words such as “Firstly,” “therefore,” and “Sometimes” show an attempt to connect ideas. However, the information is not arranged coherently enough: the first paragraph introduces the parking problem, but the next says “I forgot my home back to work,” which obscures the sequence of events. The repeated account of feeling embarrassed and asking other people also makes the progression difficult to follow. Paragraphs would be clearer if each had one purpose: describe the parking situation, explain its effect, and then request a specific solution. Use references such as “this problem” only after clearly explaining what happened.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “parking lot,” “embarrassed,” “scared,” and “confused,” so the general topic and feelings are identifiable. However, the range is basic and several word choices or combinations make the message hard to interpret. For example, “my home parking” does not clearly mean a parking space at your building, and “I feedback landlord” does not express a clear request. Repetition of “Sometimes” and “few people” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate phrases for this topic, such as “available parking space,” “return home,” and “raise this issue with you,” and use them consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response includes some simple sentence forms and attempts to connect clauses, for example, “Sometimes I need help other people few kind people help me to find my home parking.” However, sentence structures and verb forms are frequently inaccurate, and these errors sometimes distort the intended meaning. Examples include “In recently I live,” “when i back get home,” and “If you are solve the problem then i very glad.” There are also problems with articles, prepositions, and sentence boundaries, as in “a parking a lot in back” and the run-on sentence about asking people for help. Practise forming clear subject–verb sentences, using past tense for events that happened, and separating complete ideas with full stops.
