Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points: describing the house, your activities, and inviting your friend. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the house is brief, and the invitation lacks a natural flow. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a friend, though some phrasing is slightly formal or awkward. To improve, try to provide more descriptive detail about the house's surroundings and elaborate more on the specific activities you are enjoying to better engage the reader.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your ideas. You use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'Additionally'. However, some of these are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as starting a sentence with 'Moreover' when it does not logically follow the previous thought. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the house, the waves, and your family's reaction feels disjointed. Improving the logical flow between sentences will help your writing feel more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, including phrases like 'hale and hearty' and 'well maintained'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'covering of marbles in outside' and 'optimise that you should have better experience'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are precise and appropriate for the context of a friendly letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I had rented' (should be 'I have rented'), 'they would never left' (should be 'they would never leave'), and 'come their on tomorrow' (should be 'come there tomorrow'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect spacing before punctuation marks. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall clarity of your writing.
