You have rented a house by a lake for the summer.

Write a letter to a friend. In your letter
• describe the house.
• describe how you are spending your time there.
• invite your friend to come and visit.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

Dear Ahbib,

I am writing to let you know about the house I rented for this summer. It will awe you to know that the house is by a lake.

Before now, I have been trying to stay in a hut apartment but luckily for me my wishes come true. The house I rented is built with thatched leaves and a kind of house we read about in the story book "James the hunter". I do hope you remember! There is no door, as a shield, it is just a drop down clothe which serve as the door.

Moreover, I have planned to spend two days here, in between I will make a campfire around the hut to feel warmth. There is also a possibility to go hunting because I am here with my bow and arrows. This is a kind of vacation I have ever wanted.

Ahbib, this will not be complete without you accompanying me, I am using this opportunity to invite you so that we can camp together. I do hope you will not turn down my invitation.
