Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points of the task: describing the house, explaining your activities, and inviting your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention the house has 'perfect architecture' and 'required facilities,' providing more specific details about the layout or the view would have made the description more vivid. Similarly, the activities are listed briefly. Expanding on these points would help you achieve a higher band score by providing more fully developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on one of the required points. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'as it offers' and 'I would like to,' which help the flow of information. However, the transition between sentences can sometimes feel a bit mechanical or repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph where you start multiple sentences with 'I am.' To improve, try to vary your sentence starters and use a wider range of linking words or phrases to connect your ideas more fluidly, which would make the progression of the letter feel more natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You use some descriptive language like 'peaceful environment' and 'amazing journey.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'shifted to a rented house' (moved into) and 'summing pool' (swimming pool). Additionally, the phrase 'Your kinds' at the end is an incorrect closing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is used in the correct context. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated adjectives and nouns would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'spend a holidays' (spend a holiday/holidays), 'join with us' (join us), and 'with this amazing house' (in this amazing house). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor issues with article usage and preposition choice. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures while reducing these minor errors will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
