Dear Pushti,

I am writing to inform you about a house that i have recently rented near by a lake.

The best thing about this house is that it is near by my work location.it is located in best neighborhood are in the Edmonton and it is reside near to the Big lake which is most popular lake in the town. The house has two floors. Kitchen and living room on the first floor and bedroom is on the second floor. The best thing about my bedroom is a big window, where i can enjoy the beautiful view of lake .Usually I spend my evening near by the lake and enjoy listing bird chirping and go for walking around the lake. Sometime, I also enjoy the music and beautiful sunset while sitting on the bench.

I would like to invite you to visit my new home on this weekends as I have off at work on these days. I think this is the best time to spend together.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: describing the house, explaining how you spend your time, and inviting your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For example, the description of the house is functional but lacks descriptive depth, and the invitation is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas—perhaps by describing the atmosphere of the house or suggesting specific activities you could do together during the visit to make the invitation more compelling.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is clear. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'The best thing about' and 'Usually', which help the flow. However, the use of linking words is somewhat repetitive and mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally. Additionally, ensure that your paragraphing is consistent; currently, the transition between describing the house and your daily activities is a bit abrupt.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite simple. You use some repetitive phrasing, such as 'best thing about' appearing twice in close proximity. There are also some minor collocation errors, such as 'near by my work location' (should be 'near my workplace') and 'reside near to' (should be 'is situated near'). To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise vocabulary to describe your surroundings and activities, and work on natural collocations to avoid awkward phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('the lake', 'the town'), incorrect verb forms ('listing' instead of 'listening'), and punctuation issues, such as missing spaces after periods and inconsistent capitalization of 'i'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
