Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: describing the house, explaining how you spend your time, and inviting your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the description of the house is quite basic, and the invitation could be more persuasive. To reach a higher band, try to provide more descriptive detail—such as the style of the house or specific activities you enjoy—to fully engage the reader and demonstrate a more comprehensive response to the task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each focusing on one of the required points. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'There is also' and 'I am inviting you to'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes a bit mechanical, and the use of linking words is limited. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition to this') to connect your ideas more fluidly and improve the overall progression of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You use a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'peaceful', 'tourist place', and 'backyard'. However, the vocabulary is generally simple and repetitive. There are some minor issues with word choice, such as 'The fresh air come inside' (should be 'comes') and 'It was like a tourist place' (which is slightly unnatural). To achieve a higher score, aim to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and idiomatic expressions that are appropriate for informal correspondence, which will help make your writing more natural and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The house have', 'The fresh air come') and missing articles ('by lake' instead of 'by the lake'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are noticeable and occur regularly. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that articles are used correctly before nouns.
