Dear Ravi,

I hope you are doing well. I have an exciting news to tell that I have rented a property just by lake here in Goa for spending some quality time in this summer.

Furthermore, its a 3 bedroom house with kitchen and dining area included. One attached huge balconly which makes sunset even more special everyday. As I said house is very close to lake and at peaceful locatoin to avoid any kind of noise from the city.

Most of the time I choose to read books beside lake which is perfect way to eliminate stress. In the evening I go for quick walk at near by areas to explore the surroundings bit more and some aesthetic coffee shops as well. However, there is much more to exlpore which provides you unique experiences that you have never witness before.

I would love to invite you here for few weeks to relax and spend some time with me. Waiting for your revert See you soon.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The candidate successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. First, the house is clearly described as a three-bedroom property with a kitchen, dining area, and a huge balcony overlooking a lake in Goa. Second, the student details how they spend their time, mentioning reading books by the lake and taking evening walks in nearby areas. Finally, a clear invitation is extended to the friend to visit for a few weeks. The tone is appropriately informal and friendly throughout, suitable for a letter to a friend. The purpose of the writing is fully achieved.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organised into distinct paragraphs, each handling a different part of the prompt. Progression is generally clear, moving from the initial greeting and house description to daily activities and finally the invitation. However, there are some minor mechanical issues with cohesion, such as 'Furthermore, its a 3 bedroom house' and 'As I said house is very close', where transitional links or referencing could be smoother. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the letter well.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common phrases such as 'eliminate stress', 'aesthetic coffee shops', and 'quality time'. There are, however, several lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as saying 'an exciting news' (news is uncountable), 'balconly' (spelling error), 'locatoin' (spelling error), and 'revert' used as a noun meaning reply. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is never impeded.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as relative clauses ('which makes sunset even more special everyday') and conditional elements. However, there are notable grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('just by lake', 'at peaceful locatoin'), punctuation errors, and subject-verb agreement slips. While these errors do not impede understanding, their frequency prevents the writing from achieving a higher band score.
