Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement, falling significantly short of the 150-word limit, which negatively impacts the overall completeness of the task. While the writer attempts to cover all parts of the prompt by briefly mentioning the house, how they are spending time there, and inviting the friend to visit, the ideas are heavily restricted and underdeveloped. For instance, the description of the house is limited to basic facts like "three floor and each floor have two room," and the details about daily activities remain sparse and fragmented. Furthermore, the tone is inconsistent for an informal letter, and the response stops abruptly, preventing the proper development of the required bullet points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response lacks a coherent overall arrangement and suffers from a lack of proper logical progression. Sentences are strung together with very few basic cohesive devices, mostly relying on repetitive conjunctions like "and." Paragraphing is absent; the entire letter is presented as a single, dense block of text, which makes the flow difficult to follow. Referencing is also faulty, as seen in the sudden shift from describing the house to issuing an invitation without transitional phrases. While there is a basic attempt to sequence thoughts chronologically from describing the layout to extending an invitation, the lack of structural markers and clear paragraph breaks hinders readability.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, heavily constrained by everyday words and frequent spelling or word-choice errors, such as "decescrib" instead of describe, "colur" instead of colour, and "exciting" instead of excited. The writer manages to convey the general topic using simple terms like "big," "room," and "kitchen," but fails to incorporate less common lexical items or idiomatic phrases suitable for a friendly letter. Word forms are sometimes inaccurate, such as using "guest floor" instead of a guest room. While the language used is sufficient to communicate basic meaning on a familiar topic, the high frequency of lexical slips limits the precision and variety of the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical structure of the writing is extremely limited, consisting almost entirely of simple sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. There is a noticeable lack of control over basic syntax, evident in severe punctuation errors, capitalization issues, and run-on sentences like "Dear my friend Ali i buy a house in pakistan iam very happy .i decescrib my house he was big like three floor...". Verb tenses are inconsistently handled, switching awkwardly between past and present forms. Complex sentence forms are absent, and frequent grammatical errors—such as subject-verb agreement issues and missing articles—stain the text, causing difficulty for the reader and restricting the grammatical score.
