Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You successfully cover all three parts of the task by describing the rented house, explaining how you are spending your time there, and inviting your friend to visit. For instance, you mention that the house consists of four bedrooms and an exquisite garden, and you describe spending your time relaxing and planning a party. However, some ideas remain under-developed. Your description of the house and your daily activities could be extended with more specific details to fully satisfy the requirements of a higher band. Overall, the tone is appropriate for a friendly letter, and your purpose is clear throughout the text.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

Your letter has a coherent overall arrangement, and the progression of ideas is generally clear as you move from describing the house to your daily routine and finally to the invitation. You make use of basic cohesive devices such as 'Apart from this', 'Well', and 'Anyways' to guide the reader through the text. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes a bit mechanical or faulty, as seen in repetitive paragraph openers like 'Well,' and occasional awkward transitions. Paragraphing is used to separate your main points, but refining your logical connectors would make the flow more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'a stone's throw away', 'exquisite garden', and 'stunning architecture'. While these attempts show a good effort to vary your language, there are some word-choice and collocation errors that occasionally hinder natural expression, such as 'lavish with wonderful flowers' instead of 'losing in' or 'filled with', and 'worth my every penny i have disbursed'. Nevertheless, these vocabulary errors do not impede communication, and the meaning remains clear to the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over your grammatical structures. However, there are noticeable errors in grammar and punctuation throughout the text. For example, you write 'consists 4 bedrooms' missing the preposition 'of', 'since i am living here' which uses an incorrect tense for an ongoing state starting in the past, and 'i hardly wish you have attend this party' which contains multiple verb form and collocation errors. Punctuation issues, such as missing spaces after commas and erratic capitalisation of pronouns like 'i', also occur. These errors do not impede overall communication, but they occur with enough frequency to prevent a higher rating.
