Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three requested points: you describe the house and its facilities, explain that you play games and swim, and invite Gurdeep to visit. The invitation is clear, and the plans for shopping, eating and watching films add relevant detail. This meets the task well, though some ideas are less fully developed: for example, the house description lists amenities but gives little sense of its appearance or lakeside setting, and the activities are not explained in much detail. The reference to buying the house in Chandigarh also makes the location and lakeside setting somewhat unclear. A more specific description of the house and a clearer account of your daily routine would make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable sequence: an opening, information about the house and activities, an invitation, and a closing. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “because” help connect some ideas. However, most information is presented in one long paragraph, so the shifts between describing the house, explaining your routine and making plans are not clearly signposted. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “together” and the transition from the invitation to general comments about Chandigarh. Use separate paragraphs for the house, your activities and the invitation, and make each transition directly support the next idea. This would create clearer progression and reduce the sense of ideas being joined mechanically.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough everyday vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “modern home,” “amenities,” “swimming,” “quality of time” and “tourist attractions.” There are also attempts to use more descriptive language, such as “unforgettable.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “purcahse,” “vactions,” “euip,” and “spend quality of time” are examples. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “get relief from hot” and “eating food.” Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases for the lakeside setting and your activities would add variety without relying on awkward wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause beginning “where.” The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence structure and basic grammar occur across the letter. For example, “I buy this house” does not use the appropriate tense for a past purchase, “I want to invite to Gurdeep” is missing a clear object structure, and “which will makes our time” has incorrect verb agreement and form. Articles, prepositions and capitalisation also need attention, as in “in my house” and the lowercase “we” after a full stop. Practise accurate past and future forms, and check each sentence for a complete subject–verb structure before adding clauses.
