Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Smith,
I hope you are doing well. It has been long time to see you. I am writing to inform you that I have rented a house for enjoy the summer in the lap of the nature.
To begin with, as you know I have been looking for a rental property in the countryside since more than a year which has come true. This house is completly according to my expections such as it is located at the top of the hill from where I could expierence the panaromic view of the surroundings. Moreover, the cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the house really feels like a paradise.
I can also do various things which I have never tried before in my hectic life. I start my day with the sunrays of the dawn time after that I also enjoy the lush greenery of the hill without any hustle and bustle.
It would be appreciated if you will join me here within a week because it is a one time opportunity to spend this season in this stunning property with full freedom.
I will be eagerly waiting for your positive response.
Thank you
David

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The letter covers all three required points: you describe the hilltop house and its views, explain your quiet morning routine, and invite your friend to visit within a week. The setting is appealing, especially the panoramic surroundings and peaceful atmosphere. However, the description of the house is more developed than the account of how you spend your time; the activities are limited to starting the day at dawn and enjoying the greenery. The invitation is clear, but “It would be appreciated” sounds formal for a letter to a friend, and the reason to visit could be more personal. Add a specific activity you could do together and use a warmer, more direct invitation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The message has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the house, one about your routine, and a closing invitation. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “Moreover” help guide the reader, and the main ideas are easy to follow. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, however. “I can also do various things” promises several activities, but the paragraph gives only a limited account, while “after that” does not clearly connect the two parts of your morning routine. The final invitation and sign-off are understandable, though “Thank you” feels abrupt in this context. Use more natural transitions and make each paragraph develop its central point consistently.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing a peaceful setting, including “panoramic view,” “lush greenery,” and “hustle and bustle.” These choices help convey the appeal of the location, and the message remains clear. There are also several inaccurate spellings and word choices, such as “completly,” “expections,” “expierence,” and “panaromic,” which reduce precision. Some expressions are unnatural or overly formal for a friendly letter: “in the lap of the nature,” “It would be appreciated,” and “positive response.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and a conversational tone—for example, say that the house is “surrounded by nature” and invite your friend directly to come and stay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the top of the hill from where I could experience…” and a time sequence in the description of your morning. The intended meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “It has been long time to see you” needs an article and a more suitable construction, while “since more than a year” uses the wrong time expression. In “if you will join me,” the conditional clause should use a present form, and “I start my day … after that I also enjoy” needs clearer sentence boundaries. Review articles, tense choices, and clause punctuation to make these structures more accurate.
