Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: you describe the house and its lakeside setting, explain how you are spending your time, and invite Ali and his family to visit. Details such as the three bedrooms, pool, walks, fishing and outdoor cooking make the message relevant, while mentioning Nia’s visit gives the invitation a clear reason to come. The friendly tone is appropriate throughout. To make the ideas more fully developed, add a little more specific detail—for example, what you enjoy most about the house or what you and Ali could do together. The description of the view is introduced but not explained, so a concrete detail would make that part more informative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a sensible order: you introduce the rental, describe the house and your activities, then make the invitation and close warmly. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and links such as “so” and “also” connect related ideas. This gives the letter a coherent overall arrangement. Some sentences, however, contain several ideas joined together, particularly the section beginning “You know I'm so busy in my life,” which moves from your busy routine to the holiday and activities without much separation. Use clearer sentence boundaries and occasional linking phrases to show how details relate. The progression is clear, but more controlled connections and paragraphing would make it smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “lake,” “bedrooms,” “pool,” “fishing” and “grills outside.” The warm expressions “Lots of love” and “my friend” also suit an informal letter. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less natural, such as “rediant,” “quit big,” “lown,” “speacially” and “vaction.” Some phrases are also awkward, including “closed to lake” and “the view i can't explain it in the words.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for describing a location, scenery and leisure activities. More precise descriptive vocabulary would help the house and setting come alive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate the main message using simple statements and some attempts to combine ideas, such as “You know I'm so busy in my life that i can't give time to my famliy and friends so i decide to take vaction.” However, sentence structures are limited, and attempts to join several clauses often lead to errors or unclear punctuation. Examples include “I just rented a house closed to lake on this summer time” and “the view i can't explain it in the words”; these need more accurate article use, sentence structure and prepositions. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in lowercase “i” and the run-on sequence about your activities. Practise separating ideas into complete sentences and checking verb forms and articles.
