Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points: explaining the loss, describing the bag, and requesting assistance. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The explanation of how the bag was lost is slightly confusing, and the description of the bag's contents (nail polish, creams) is a bit unusual for a lost property report, which might affect the perceived relevance. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening 'Dear manager' is slightly informal compared to the required 'Dear Sir or Madam'. Overall, the task is addressed, but the content could be more professional and focused.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the narrative. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward. For example, the transition 'Eventually, i was talking with my friends' does not logically follow the previous sentence. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'it is also represented by red shine color'. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the flow between sentences could be improved to ensure a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'red shine color' and 'stationary items' (which usually refers to paper and pens, not cosmetics). The word choice is often basic, and there are some errors in collocation, such as 'make an request' instead of 'make a request'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors occasionally draw attention to the language rather than the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. These include issues with articles ('riding taxi'), subject-verb agreement, and capitalization ('i' instead of 'I'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, consistent capitalization, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
