Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points: explaining how the bag was lost, describing the bag, and requesting assistance. However, the letter is incomplete; the first paragraph ends abruptly with 'I realized I', leaving the reader confused about the specific moment the loss was discovered. While the description of the bag is detailed, the narrative flow is interrupted by this missing information. To improve, ensure that every sentence is completed and that the narrative provides a clear, logical sequence of events from the taxi ride to the realization of the loss.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is divided into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the transition between the first and second paragraph is disjointed due to the incomplete sentence at the end of the first paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'When I reached back home' and 'which is why', but the overall flow is hindered by the grammatical gaps. Using more varied linking words to connect your ideas, such as 'consequently' or 'furthermore', would help improve the logical progression of the letter.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have used some descriptive vocabulary, such as 'multi-coloured', 'sequenced', and 'embossed', which is appropriate for describing a personal item. However, there are some informal or imprecise choices, such as 'stuff' and 'cum', which are not ideal for a formal letter to a company manager. The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but to reach a higher band, you should aim for more formal synonyms and ensure that your word choices are consistently professional throughout the correspondence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are several grammatical issues, including the incomplete sentence at the end of the first paragraph and minor errors like 'on phone' (should be 'on the phone'). You use a mix of simple and complex structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. The punctuation is also slightly erratic, particularly with the use of exclamation marks in the sign-off. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to ensure that all sentences are complete and that articles (a/an/the) are used correctly before nouns.
