Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three required points: it explains that you forgot the bag after a late, tiring journey, describes it as a black document bag with a turtle keychain, and asks the manager to check the lost-and-found section. Details such as the pickup location, approximate time, and driver’s name also make the account useful for tracing the taxi. The purpose remains clear throughout, and the request is relevant. To make the response more fully developed, state explicitly that you would like the company to contact the driver or check its records, and provide a way for the manager to reach you. The description of the driver is less useful than a taxi number or other identifying information, if available.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable progression: it introduces the problem, explains the journey and discovery, gives identifying details, and ends with a request and polite closing. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and time markers such as “Later” and “at around 11 PM” support the sequence. This gives the response a coherent overall arrangement. However, some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “And, to indenify my document bag…” and “It was quite late last as well,” which interrupt the flow. The opening sentence also combines the purpose and the lost-bag information in a confusing way. Use clearer transitions and make each paragraph’s main point explicit to achieve smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use task-relevant vocabulary, including “overtime,” “stressed out,” “document bag,” “turtle keychain,” and “lost and found section,” so the reader can understand the situation and identify the item. There is some useful specificity in the description. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “accidentaly,” “texi,” “indenify,” “documenrs,” and “appericiate.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise: “request to found out” and “I took of laptop bag” do not express the intended meaning clearly. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing standard collocations, such as “ask for information” and “take my bag with me.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example, “I was so tried and streesed out that…” and “Later, when i reached home and tried to look for my bag…” This shows an effort to explain events in sequence and give reasons. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, and punctuation frequently make the writing less controlled. Examples include “the day was also been very demanding,” “I forgot my take my document bag,” and the fragment “A spanish guy with tattos all around his body.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “i” and the comma before “but.” Practise forming complete sentences and checking tense and verb patterns; for example, “I was tired and stressed, so I forgot to take my document bag with me.”
