Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three required points: you explain that you left the bag behind while on a phone call, describe its black colour, white design, three chains and green bottle, and ask the manager to help locate it. The details about your documents and laptop also make the request feel relevant. The purpose is clear throughout, and the formal opening and closing suit the situation. To make the response more fully developed, give the taxi journey a little more identifying detail, such as the destination or approximate drop-off time, and make the requested action more specific—for example, asking the company to contact the driver and check the vehicle. This would strengthen an already complete response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible sequence: you introduce the problem, explain how the bag was left behind, describe its contents and appearance, and then request help. Paragraphing separates the main stages, and phrases such as “Moreover” and “In addition” help connect details. The progression is generally clear, though some linking words feel mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately; “However” does not contrast naturally with the preceding explanation. The final request and closing are also placed appropriately. For a smoother, more controlled flow, use fewer formulaic connectors and link events directly, such as “During the ride…” followed by “When I arrived home…”.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the situation and identify the bag, including “white design,” “water bottle,” “significant documents” and “laptop.” The description gives the manager useful distinguishing features. However, several noticeable word-choice and collocation problems make the language less natural, such as “back bag,” “3 chains,” “my all significant documents,” and “time and concentration.” “Find my bag is soon as possible” also shows that some expressions are not yet controlled. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the main message, but they limit precision and naturalness. Practise common phrases for lost property and formal requests, and check spelling and word forms before sending a letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including “I was on a phone call during taxi ride and I left my bag…” and “I will appreciate it if you could…”. The main events remain understandable, but errors in articles, tense, agreement and sentence construction occur across the letter. For example, “during taxi ride” needs an article, “I had realized” is awkward in this sequence, and “documents, cards and laptop was” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening also contains a tense inconsistency in “yesterday, I took…”. Work on accurate past-tense narration and matching verbs to plural subjects, then proofread punctuation and spacing. More reliable control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
