Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three required points: it explains that you left the handbag behind while hurrying to catch a flight, describes it as black with seven pockets and a Dior brand, and asks the manager to help locate it. The details about the taxi number and the important documents make the request specific and give the manager useful information. The purpose remains clear throughout. To make the response more fully developed, explain what action you would like the company to take—for example, checking with the driver or contacting you if the bag is found—and clarify what “BC id” refers to. A more direct, complete request would strengthen an already relevant response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The information follows a sensible order: the journey and loss are explained first, the bag is described next, and the request and contact number come at the end. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and linking phrases such as “because” and “When I reached” show relationships between events. The progression is generally clear, though some connections are repetitive or awkward, particularly the repeated explanation that the documents are important and time-consuming to replace. The closing is also somewhat abrupt. Use clearer transitions between the loss, the description, and the requested action, and finish with a complete, natural closing sentence. These refinements would make the organisation smoother and cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the situation and identify the property, including “hand bag,” “suitcases,” “seven pockets,” and “duplicate copies.” The specific brand and taxi number are useful details. However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “yestarday,” “in rush,” “documents related my job,” and “mean for me” are not natural or accurate expressions. “Bag” and “documents” are also repeated, and “BC id” may not be clear to the reader. Aim for more precise collocations, such as “in a hurry,” “documents related to my work,” and “are important to me,” and check spelling carefully. This would make the vocabulary more controlled and easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The letter includes both simple statements and longer clauses, for example, “I forgot my hand bag… because…” and “When I reached to my destination…,” so there is some variety in sentence structure. The main events are usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect accuracy. Examples include “yestarday i book” instead of a past-tense form, “When i reached to my destination i forget,” and “there was a documents.” The request sentence beginning “I am requesting you that please…” is also structurally awkward. Practise consistent past-tense narration and build direct, complete sentences, while checking articles and singular/plural agreement. Accurate punctuation and capitalisation will further improve readability.
