Dear Sahaya,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have attempted to address all three bullet points—explaining why you are selling the bike, describing it, and suggesting why your friend would like it—the development is very limited. The description of the bicycle is vague, and the explanation of why your friend would want it is incomplete. To improve, you must expand on your ideas with more detail and ensure you reach the minimum word count to fully develop your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for a personal letter. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and repetitive (e.g., 'First of all', 'Moreover', 'Finally'). The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed due to the brevity of the content. To improve, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that your ideas are connected more smoothly to create a more natural progression of thought throughout the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for a simple personal letter, but it lacks the range and precision required for a higher band score. You rely on very basic phrasing, such as 'very good condition' and 'no damage'. There are also some awkward word choices, such as 'authorized transport' and 'put it on market place'. To improve, try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and idiomatic expressions suitable for a friendly letter, and ensure you use correct collocations when discussing items for sale.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including punctuation issues (e.g., 'How are you ?'), capitalization errors ('i' instead of 'I'), and tense/article inconsistencies (e.g., 'who will be purchased this'). These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable but do not completely impede communication. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, ensure consistent capitalization, and practice using articles and verb forms correctly. Increasing the variety of your sentence structures will also help improve your score.
