Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why you are no longer using the bike, describing it, and explaining why your friend would like it. However, the tone is inconsistent. You addressed the letter to 'Dear Sir' (formal) instead of a friend (informal), and signed off with 'Yours faithfully', which is reserved for formal letters where the recipient's name is unknown. To improve, ensure the tone matches the relationship with the recipient. The ideas are relevant, but the development is slightly limited by the repetitive sentence structures.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, you rely heavily on simple conjunctions like 'and' or 'also'. There is a lack of varied linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly. The transition between the description of the bike and the reason your friend would like it could be smoother. Improving your use of transition signals (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') would help elevate your score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'reasonable price' and 'resale'. However, there are several word-choice errors and awkward collocations. For instance, 'in concern with' is incorrect; 'regarding' or 'about' would be better. 'Going to me school' contains a pronoun error, and 'does not fainted' is grammatically incorrect. You also use 'electronic scooter' instead of 'electric scooter'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring your word forms are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally hinder the flow. Examples include 'I was no longer in use with it' (incorrect preposition/phrasing), 'I bought it since last one year' (incorrect tense), and 'due it is new look' (missing preposition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While your meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and tense usage prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition use.
