Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter covers all three bullet points: explaining why the bike is no longer used, describing it, and suggesting why the friend would want it. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of these ideas. The description of the bicycle is somewhat vague, using phrases like 'modern technological way' and 'fabulous accessories' without providing concrete details that would make the letter more convincing. To improve, you should expand on your points by adding specific details about the bike's features and elaborating on your friendship to create a more natural tone.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is short and lacks clear paragraphing, which is essential for a formal or semi-formal letter structure. While the ideas follow a logical sequence, the transition between sentences is somewhat abrupt. The use of cohesive devices is limited; for example, the letter relies heavily on 'I just want to' to start sentences, which makes the flow repetitive. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'as a result') and ensure you use clear paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, the body points, and the closing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and occasionally inaccurate. Phrases like 'modern technological way' and 'proper with rebust iron' are unnatural and do not clearly describe the bike. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'half price' (should be 'half price' or 'at half the price') and 'my father present a magnificent bike' (should be 'presented'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise adjectives and collocations related to selling items and describing objects. Avoid repetitive phrasing and try to use a more varied range of vocabulary to express your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The letter contains several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your message. There are issues with article usage ('regarding bicycle'), tense consistency ('six months year ago'), and sentence structure. For instance, 'This bicycle is designed with modern technological way' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles. Practicing complex sentence structures will also help you move beyond simple, repetitive sentence patterns.
