Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining why the bike is no longer used, describing the bike, and suggesting why the friend would want it. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum requirement, which limits the development of ideas. The descriptions are quite brief, such as '12 accelerator category,' which is unclear and lacks detail. To reach a higher band, you need to expand on your points—for example, by describing the bike's condition or history in more detail—to ensure the response is fully developed and meets the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which is appropriate for the task. However, the flow between sentences is somewhat mechanical. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Also' and 'By the way,' but the progression of ideas feels a bit disjointed. For instance, the transition from explaining your new job to describing the bike is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear focus would help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for a simple letter, but it is limited and contains several inaccuracies. Phrases like 'rich the office' (reach) and '12 accelerator category' (likely referring to gears) indicate a lack of precision. There are also spelling errors such as 'annoncement' and 'allot' (a lot). To improve, you should focus on using more accurate terminology related to bicycles and work on your spelling. Expanding your range of descriptive adjectives would also help make your writing more engaging.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'I hope you doing well' (I hope you are doing well), 'I have no longer using' (I am no longer using), and 'thats inpractical' (that is impractical). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the errors occasionally make the meaning slightly difficult to follow. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of auxiliary verbs. Increasing the variety of your sentence structures by using more complex forms would also be beneficial.
