Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the development of the ideas. While you have addressed all three bullet points—explaining why you are no longer using the bike, describing it, and suggesting why your friend would want it—the content is underdeveloped. The explanation regarding your education is somewhat confusing and lacks clarity. To improve, you need to expand on your descriptions and provide more detail to ensure the letter is fully developed and meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the logical progression of ideas is hindered by the lack of sufficient detail and some awkward phrasing. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In other words' and 'Furthermore', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not effectively link the ideas. The overall structure feels fragmented, and the flow between sentences is often interrupted by grammatical errors, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and contains several inaccuracies. For example, you used 'convince' instead of 'conveyance' or 'transportation', and 'pursuing my study' is slightly unnatural. There is a lack of variety in your word choice, and some terms are used incorrectly, which occasionally impedes communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary related to the topic and ensure that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb tenses ('i am done my senior secondary education'), sentence structure, and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper grammatical construction, such as 'its easy to be anyone who cycling'. The range of structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple sentences that are often incorrectly formed. Improving your control over basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement is essential for better clarity and accuracy.
