Student answer (Band 7.0)
Dear Sumit,
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform you that I am selling my bicycle and If you are interested to buy it,
I have recently got an electrical bike as a gift from parents. Therefore, since two weeks, my bicycle is parked in my garage as it is, so I have decided to sell my bicycle as I am no longer using it for my daily commute.
Let me tell you about the bicycle. It is red in color, limited addition sports model with six gears. It has safety light in the front to give hassle free riding during the nights. The overall condition is spectacular, and is still having 5 months of warranty left.
I think this bicycle will suit you the best as I know you are looking for the ride like this. I know your work place is near to your home, and you will take care of this cycle very well.
Let me know about your thoughts. I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and regards,
Urvesh

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained why you are no longer using the bike (the new electric bike), provided a detailed description of the bicycle (red, sports model, gears, lights, warranty), and explained why it would suit your friend. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the letter is clear throughout. The ideas are well-developed and relevant to the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the task, which makes the letter easy to follow. You have used appropriate paragraphing and basic cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'As', and 'I think'. While the transition between the opening sentence and the second paragraph is slightly abrupt, the overall structure is sound and the flow of information is natural for a personal letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly. You used some specific terms like 'daily commute', 'limited edition', and 'spectacular'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'since two weeks' (should be 'for two weeks') and 'interested to buy' (should be 'interested in buying'). Additionally, 'limited addition' is a spelling error for 'limited edition'. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I have recently got' (should be 'I have recently received' or 'I recently got'), 'is still having' (should be 'still has'), and 'the ride like this' (should be 'a ride like this'). While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To reach a higher band, focus on verb tense consistency and article usage.
