Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the three requested points: you explain that joining a sports club means you no longer need the bicycle, describe its colour and exercise function, and invite your friend to buy it with a discount. However, the description is very limited, and the reason your friend would like it is asserted rather than explained; “It is suitable for you” does not say what makes it a good match. The opening “Dear Hiya” is also not an appropriate letter greeting. The response is one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop the bicycle’s features and connect them specifically to your friend’s needs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the reason for selling to the bicycle’s description and then the offer, with a closing. This gives the reader a basic sense of organisation. However, progression within the middle paragraph is uneven: “I think you see my bicycle, but I explain my bicycle” interrupts the description, and several short statements are placed together without clear links. The repeated use of “cycle” and “bicycle” also makes the writing feel repetitive. Use clearer transitions to connect the club membership to the sale, then group the bicycle’s features together and explain why they suit your friend.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small set of relevant words, including “sports club,” “cycling,” “exercise,” “discount,” and “interested,” so the basic topic is understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and several choices or combinations are unnatural, such as “cycling facilities is available,” “The sit,” and “I am not earn with you.” Repetition of “cycle” and “bicycle” also restricts the range. Choose more precise terms for the bicycle’s parts and condition, and use natural expressions for making a friendly offer. For example, describe it as being “in good condition” and say that you are “offering it to you at a reduced price.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response relies mainly on short, simple sentences, with only a few attempts to link ideas, as in “If you want to buy my cycle i will give you discount.” Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the message difficult to follow. Examples include “I hope all things doing well with you,” “Cycling facilities is available,” and “I am not earn with you.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the lowercase “i” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise complete sentence patterns such as “I hope you are doing well” and check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before sending.
