Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear harman,
How are you, I am fine and i hope you are also doing awesome.
It has been a while since we met last time, actually I wanted to share a news that I am looking for a new job. Reason behind, my current job is offering me limited opportunities for career growth, and its getting hard to manage daily expenses as inflation because I am still working on average wages.
As I have learned new skills and I also got my truck license, I believe this is right time to shuffle the job. I particularly want a job as a truck driver. There are numbers of reasons behind it, payrates are good, stable schedules, even there are oppotunities to explore new places everyday.
I am writing the letter to you, because you have contacts in some well-named companies. Therefore, I you would hear any job vanacy available in you known, please assist me in having that option. I would really appreciate you .
Your friend,
Raman.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining the reason for leaving, describing the desired job, and requesting assistance. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the explanation regarding 'inflation' and 'average wages' is clear, but the description of the truck driving role could be more detailed to fully satisfy the requirement for a well-developed response. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of information provided is limited, which prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. There is a clear opening and closing. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. Phrases like 'Reason behind' and 'There are numbers of reasons behind it' are repetitive and slightly awkward. While the overall flow is coherent, the transitions between sentences could be smoother and more varied to improve the logical flow of the letter.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. There are some attempts at topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'career growth' and 'stable schedules'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors or awkward phrasing, such as 'shuffle the job' instead of 'change jobs' and 'well-named companies' instead of 'well-known' or 'reputable' companies. Spelling errors like 'oppotunities' and 'vanacy' also occur, which slightly impacts the overall quality of the lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'I am writing the letter to you, because you have contacts in some well-named companies. Therefore, I you would hear any job vanacy available in you known'. This sentence contains punctuation and structural errors that impede readability. Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent throughout the text. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would significantly improve the score.
