Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining the reason for leaving, describing the desired job, and asking for help. However, the response is significantly under the 150-word minimum, which limits the development of ideas. The explanation for leaving is brief, and the description of the desired job lacks detail. Because the response is under-length, it fails to fully develop the points as required for a higher band score. To improve, you should expand on your reasons and provide more context about your professional background or the specific industry you are targeting.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is organized into short paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'Lastly' to signal the progression of your ideas. However, the flow is somewhat mechanical, and the connection between sentences is occasionally weak. For example, the transition between the reason for leaving and the job requirement could be smoother. To achieve a higher score, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each paragraph contains a well-developed idea rather than just one or two sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic. You use some relevant terms like 'manager position' and 'field', but there is a lack of variety and precision. There are also some minor word-choice errors, such as 'reach on my workplace' (should be 'reach my workplace') and 'you would be assist me' (should be 'you would assist me'). To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and a wider range of professional vocabulary related to job hunting and career goals.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. Examples include 'I am interesting for getting' (should be 'I am interested in getting'), 'my first requirement... is close to my destination' (should be 'is that the job is close to my home'), and 'find my a new job'. These errors are noticeable, though they do not completely impede communication. Increasing your control over basic sentence structures and verb forms will significantly improve your score.
