Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining why you are looking for a new job, describing the desired role, and asking for help. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or unclear, such as the explanation of why you want to work for a 'big franchise' and the specific benefits you expect. To improve, ensure that your reasons are fully explained and that the connection between your experience and the desired job is more explicit. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of the content could be enhanced to better meet the requirements of a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each serving a clear purpose. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover' and 'Therefore,' to link your ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that the logical relationship between sentences is consistently clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'toxic workplace environment' and 'service sectors.' However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'toxtic,' 'sufferd,' 'restuarants,' 'ineterested,' and 'satey.' These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning, the frequency of spelling mistakes limits your score. To improve, focus on proofreading your work to catch these common errors and try to incorporate more precise, less common vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'how is your summer break is going,' 'I am planning to search a work,' and 'It assist us.' These errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage are common. While your meaning is generally clear, the number of errors prevents a higher score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, particularly verb tenses and prepositions. Practicing sentence construction and reviewing your work for these specific types of errors will help you achieve greater accuracy.
