Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all three bullet points required by the task: explaining why you are leaving your job, describing your desired career, and asking for your friend's help. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention wanting to 'form my skills' and 'earn more money', these points could be expanded with more specific detail to better engage the reader. The letter covers the requirements sufficiently to meet the criteria for a Band 6.0, as all parts are addressed, though some areas could be more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical progression, moving from the news of your job change to your future goals and finally to your request for assistance. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'Plus' to connect your ideas. However, the paragraphing is somewhat disjointed, and the transition between sentences can feel a bit mechanical. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus. The current structure is clear enough to follow, but it lacks the sophisticated flow required for a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your message, such as 'profession', 'priority', and 'influencer'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'form my skills' (which should be 'develop' or 'hone') and 'go for teaching career' (which requires an article: 'a teaching career'). While your vocabulary is sufficient for the task, it is somewhat repetitive and lacks the precision or range of less common lexical items that would push your score into the 7.0+ range. Focusing on collocations and more precise verbs will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'Why I am planning to change my profession is because of losing my interest' (which is awkward phrasing) and 'salary is also my second main priority as this profession is highly paid' (which lacks an article before 'salary'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and article usage will lead to significant improvement.
