Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it is only 76 words long. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While you have touched upon the three required bullet points—explaining why you are looking for a new job, describing the desired role, and asking for help—the ideas are severely underdeveloped. To achieve a higher band, you must expand on your reasons, provide more specific details about the type of architecture role you seek, and include a more natural, extended request for assistance. The current length significantly limits your ability to demonstrate the required level of task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The letter is very brief, which makes it difficult to assess your ability to organize ideas into a coherent whole. There is a lack of paragraphing, and the transition between ideas is abrupt. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'also', the overall structure is underdeveloped. To improve, you should organize your letter into distinct paragraphs: one for the introduction and reason for leaving, one for the job description, and one for the request for help. Using a wider range of linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in addition' would help improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is functional but quite limited. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'very tough' and 'looking for a new job'. There are also some minor errors in word choice, such as 'architect field' instead of 'architecture field'. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to employment and professional development. For example, instead of saying 'I can not get some time', you could use 'I struggle to maintain a healthy work-life balance'. Expanding your vocabulary will allow you to express your ideas with more precision and sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For instance, 'I hope this letter find you well' should be 'finds', and 'my working hours is' should be 'are'. Additionally, there are issues with capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters. Your sentence structures are currently quite simple. To improve, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and punctuation. Try to incorporate a mix of complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring that your basic grammar remains accurate.
