Student answer (Band 6.5)
Hello Nandu,
I hope you and your family are doing well and good. I am little bit frustrated about my work environment and my colleagues. As you know, it's been 3 years I am working in this clinic and they always want me to do extra jobs without paying. My job tittle is physiotherapy assistant and now they want me to do the front desk stuffs as well as social media handling. Unfortunately, they won't pay extra for the extra works.
I am looking for a part- time physiotherapy assistant job near to my location. I am ready to learn new things and I am flexible with the working hours. The reason why iam looking for part-time job is because I am planning to enroll a course of CAPR.
I know you were working in the physiotherapy clinic near to my place. Recently, I saw an hiring add for the physiotherapy assistant in the newspaper. It would be helpful if you could refer me to your workplace.
I can't wait to here from you
Lovingly,
Neethu

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly explained your frustration with the current workplace, described the desired role as a part-time physiotherapy assistant, and made a specific request for your friend to provide a referral. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, and the purpose of the communication is clear throughout. To improve, you could expand slightly on the specific skills you hope to bring to a new role to make your request for a referral more persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter follows a logical structure, with clear paragraphing separating the introduction, the explanation of the situation, and the final request. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'As you know', 'Unfortunately', and 'The reason why' to connect your ideas. However, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the letter maintains a consistent, informal tone throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, such as 'work environment', 'flexible', and 'enroll'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and informal phrasing, such as 'front desk stuffs' (should be 'tasks' or 'duties') and 'hiring add' (should be 'hiring ad' or 'advertisement'). While your meaning is always clear, incorporating more precise collocations and avoiding informal errors would help you achieve a higher band score. Your vocabulary is sufficient for the task but lacks the flexibility seen at higher levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I am little bit frustrated' (missing 'a'), 'it's been 3 years I am working' (should be 'I have been working'), and 'enroll a course' (should be 'enroll in a course'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and spelling slips like 'here' instead of 'hear'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will improve your accuracy.
