Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You explained the reason for seeking a new job (financial pressure from car expenses), described the desired role (full-time warehouse supervisor), and requested assistance from your friend. The tone is appropriately informal for a letter to a friend. To improve, ensure you expand slightly more on the 'why' and 'what' to provide a more comprehensive response, as some ideas are currently quite brief. However, the task requirements are fully met.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing, which helps the reader follow your train of thought. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'However' and 'As you know' to link ideas. To reach a higher band, try to use a wider range of linking words and ensure that referencing is more precise. For example, in the second paragraph, the transition between your current job and your financial situation is clear, but the flow could be smoother with more varied transition signals.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'warehouse supervisor', 'decision-making', and 'installments'. However, there are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'new you' instead of 'new job' and 'manage me expenses' instead of 'manage my expenses'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more idiomatic expressions suitable for a friendly letter would improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'I writing this letter' (missing auxiliary verb), 'you are come into my mind' (incorrect verb tense), and 'I could able to' (redundant modal usage). While these errors rarely impede the overall meaning, they are frequent enough to affect the flow. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct auxiliary verb usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
