Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points: explaining the reason for the job search, describing the desired role, and requesting assistance. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, while you mention wanting to work in a five-star hotel, providing more specific details about the type of role or your career aspirations would have made the letter more engaging. The response is clear and the purpose is well-defined, meeting the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter follows a logical progression, moving from personal news to the request for help. Paragraphing is present, though the structure is a bit fragmented. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Now I want to', 'You are my best friend', and 'It will be very helpful', which help the flow. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or abrupt. To reach a higher band, ensure that sentences are linked more fluidly and that the relationship between ideas is more explicitly stated through a wider variety of cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your message clearly, such as 'radiant health', 'hospitality management', and 'full time employee'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'completed my masters on' (should be 'in') and 'haring' (should be 'hiring'). While the vocabulary is adequate for the task, it lacks the precision and variety of less common lexical items that would demonstrate a higher level of proficiency. Focusing on accurate collocations will help improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'You will happy to know' (missing 'be'), 'I already have been worked' (incorrect passive construction), and 'many employee who on there' (should be 'employees who are there'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. To improve, pay closer attention to verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions.
