Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task. You clearly explain why you are looking for a new job, mentioning that you recently completed a General arts and science course and need money to pay your study fees. You also describe the kind of job you would like to have, stating a preference for a sitting job in a bank because you cannot do physically demanding work due to health issues. Furthermore, you effectively ask your friend Rohan for help by mentioning that bank managers are hiring in his city and that you will send your resume via WhatsApp. Your ideas are extended and supported well throughout the letter, giving a clear position and purpose for writing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in your letter, with an appropriate opening and closing, and you attempt to transition between ideas. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression because ideas are sometimes grouped together without smooth logical transitions. For example, jumping from your study fees straight into asking for help and describing the desk job creates a slightly disjointed flow. Cohesive devices are used, but they are sometimes mechanical or basic, such as repeatedly starting sentences with conjunctions or simple connectors. Paragraphing is present, but the internal links between sentences need to be managed more skillfully to guide the reader seamlessly through your thoughts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use an adequate range of vocabulary to complete the task, attempting some less common phrases like "radiant health" and "physically demanding job." However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation that occasionally distract the reader. For instance, writing "I am finding a new job" should be "I am looking for a new job," and "sitting job" is better expressed as a "desk job" or "office job." Additionally, there are awkward phrasing choices such as "heared, Bank managers are hiring a new employees" which show limited control over natural collocations, placing your lexical score at a solid intermediate level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms in your letter. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that persist throughout the text. For example, there are tense and verb form errors such as "I done General arts and science course" instead of "I completed" or "I did," and "It would be apprecite" instead of "It would be appreciated." You also make preposition and article errors, such as "need money, for paying fees" and adding unnecessary spaces around punctuation marks. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they prevent you from achieving a higher level of grammatical control.
