Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the main parts of the prompt, as you explain that your project is finishing and you need a job, while also asking your friend Bilal to check for open positions and help you secure an interview. However, the requirement to describe the kind of job you would like to have is only minimally met. While you mention road infrastructure and execution experience, you do not clearly outline the specific role or responsibilities you are looking for. The ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, particularly regarding the job description and your overall personal position. To move to a higher level, you should ensure that every bullet point from the prompt is given equal and explicit attention, with fuller elaboration on the specific role you desire.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation evident in your letter, starting with a standard greeting and ending with a formal sign-off, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. The second paragraph attempts to combine multiple points—your project status, your experience in road infrastructure, and your personal financial pressures—resulting in a dense block of text that lacks smooth logical transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'as you know' and 'and', which makes the flow mechanical rather than natural. Paragraphing is not used effectively to separate distinct ideas, as the main body merges the job explanation, financial reasons, and the request for help. To improve, you need to group related ideas into separate, well-structured paragraphs and use a wider variety of accurate cohesive devices to connect your thoughts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey your basic message. You attempt some less common work-related terms such as 'infrastructure', 'execution', 'operation', and 'humen resourse', but there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text. Examples include 'Novemenber' instead of November, 'handeing over' instead of handing over, 'postion' for position, 'orgization' for organisation, 'succeffely' for successfully, 'experionce' for experience, and 'excution' for execution. These errors and spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted control of word forms. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your vocabulary range and pay much closer attention to correct spelling and word formation in professional contexts.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic sentence forms linked by conjunctions. When you attempt complex sentences, they are often faulty, featuring frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. For instance, you make errors in verb tenses and auxiliary verbs, such as 'I hope your are doing well' and 'my project going to be handeing over', as well as subject-verb agreement issues like 'my kids is studing' and 'the cost of everythings is high'. Additionally, punctuation and preposition use need attention, such as missing commas and incorrect preposition choices in phrases like 'experience about the excution'. To progress, you must work on mastering basic sentence structures, improving verb-subject agreement, and reducing the frequency of foundational grammatical errors.
